Rep. Joe Hogan has announced funding for two infrastructure projects in the 142nd District, awarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Automated Red-Light Enforcement (ARLE) program. Penndel Borough will receive $350,990 to modernize traffic signals at the intersection of Durham Road and Lincoln Highway. Northampton Township is set to receive $760,100 to enhance pedestrian safety and operational efficiency at several intersections.
"With the ever-increasing number of vehicles on our roads, these two projects will help to make them safer for both drivers and pedestrians while improving efficiencies," said Hogan.
The ARLE program focuses on enhancing safety at signalized intersections through automated enforcement where red-light running has been identified as a problem. An eight-member committee selected the projects based on factors such as safety benefits, cost-effectiveness, and local impact.
