Rep. Joe Hogan announced funding for two infrastructure projects in the 142nd District through Pennsylvania's Automated Red-Light Enforcement (ARLE) program. The projects aim to enhance traffic safety and efficiency.
Penndel Borough received $350,990 to modernize traffic signals at the intersection of Durham Road (Route 2049) and Lincoln Highway (Route 2037). Additionally, Northampton Township was awarded $760,100 to improve pedestrian safety and operational efficiency at several intersections involving Buck Road (Route 532).
Hogan stated, "With the ever-increasing number of vehicles on our roads, these two projects will help to make them safer for both drivers and pedestrians while improving efficiencies."
The ARLE program focuses on enhancing safety at signalized intersections with a history of red-light violations. Projects were chosen by an eight-member committee based on criteria such as safety benefits, cost-effectiveness, and local impact.
