Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick issued a statement regarding the passing of Frank Mongiello, a resident of Yardley and an advocate for those with ALS. Fitzpatrick described Mongiello as "a devoted husband, a loving father, and a remarkable advocate whose courage and determination profoundly moved and united our community." Despite his ALS diagnosis, Mongiello focused on advocacy for terminal illness rights.
Mongiello played a significant role in the creation of The Trickett Wendler, Frank Mongiello, Jordan McLinn, and Matthew Bellina Right to Try Act. This legislation allows families to seek treatment options for their loved ones facing terminal illnesses. Fitzpatrick noted it was "one of the greatest honors" to work with Mongiello on this law.
Fitzpatrick expressed condolences to Mongiello's family: "I extend my prayers and heartfelt condolences to Frank's incredible wife Marilyn, their six children, and all who knew and loved him." He emphasized that Mongiello's legacy will continue to inspire efforts toward finding a cure for ALS.
