Senator-elect Frank Farry announced that the Redevelopment Authority of Bucks County has awarded over $1 million in grants to the 6th Senatorial District. These funds, generated by Parx Casino in Bensalem Township, aim to support local municipalities.

"My predecessor, Sen. Tommy Tomlinson, spearheaded impactful gaming legislation, the Pennsylvania Racehorse and Development Gaming Act of 2004, which created the Municipal Grant Program to directly benefit taxpayers and their communities," Farry stated. "As a local fire chief, I am pleased to see the funds generated by our local casino be used for necessary equipment and resources for our first responders, resulting in a safer community and keeping our taxpayers’ money local."

Since its inception, the Redevelopment Authority has allocated more than $56 million in grant funding for critical municipal projects. The Municipal Grant Program is funded by 1% of the gross terminal revenue from Parx Casino. The recent grants will finance various municipal projects such as infrastructure improvements, facilities development, health and public safety initiatives, human services enhancements, and equipment procurement for law enforcement and emergency responders.

The grant application process is managed annually by the Redevelopment Authority with guidance provided to eligible municipalities.
