Langhorne, PA – Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick has announced a significant allocation of $8,850,000 in Community Project Funding for Morrisville. This funding is intended to enhance various sectors such as education and infrastructure within the community. The funds are part of the FY23 Consolidated Appropriations Act and were secured through Fitzpatrick's efforts.
The funding includes several key projects aimed at fostering growth and improving resources in Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District. Among these projects is a $4 million renovation plan for the YMCA of Morrisville. This project will involve classroom renovations, window replacements, roof repairs, and asbestos removal to provide a safe environment for youth programs and family activities.
Another major initiative involves an $850,000 investment in the Morrisville School District Technology Program. This funding aims to integrate advanced technology into classrooms, thereby transforming educational methods and supporting afterschool programs. Dr. Andrew J. Doster, Superintendent of the Morrisville Borough School District, noted that these funds have significantly improved student experiences by upgrading district programs and technologies.
Additionally, $4 million has been allocated to develop a new wastewater treatment facility under the Morrisville Municipal Authority Wastewater Treatment Facility project. John Warenda, Executive Director of the authority, highlighted that this investment will boost economic growth while enhancing environmental sustainability.
Congressman Fitzpatrick emphasized the importance of these initiatives: “This $8.85 Million investment will ignite a new chapter of growth and opportunity for our Morrisville community,” he stated.
These investments represent just a portion of Fitzpatrick's broader efforts to direct federal resources towards beneficial projects across his district.
