Langhorne, PA – Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) announced the securing of a $1,000,000 Community Project Funding (CPF) grant for the expansion of the Heart and Vascular suite at Doylestown Hospital.

The CPF was introduced by Fitzpatrick into the FY2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act as part of the Community Project Funding program. This initiative allows Members of Congress to allocate federal funds towards projects within their districts that address significant community needs.

Through the Community Project Funding Request process for the 118th Congress, included in the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, Fitzpatrick secured over $27.5 million for 14 community projects benefiting First District constituents. Additionally, he secured more than $19 million in CPF funding for 13 projects in FY23 and over $6.6 million for 10 projects in FY22.

This funding will enable Doylestown Health to expand its efforts against heart disease, the leading cause of death in the United States. The funds will facilitate constructing a secondary facility and upgrading an existing catheterization lab with advanced technology and equipment.

"We are so grateful for the Congressman’s continuing support and partnership, and his focus on the health and wellbeing of Bucks County residents," said Jim Brexler, President and CEO of Doylestown Health. "Heart disease continues to be an urgent health issue in Bucks County and a leading cause of death in U.S."

“Securing this $1 million for Doylestown Health is a win for the health and well-being of our entire community,” said Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1). “By expanding their state-of-the-art facilities and incorporating the latest technology, this funding will dramatically elevate patient care in our community.”

Doylestown Hospital has served its community since 1923, providing care across more than 50 specialties. It has maintained high standards in patient safety with consecutive “A” grades from Leapfrog Group and offers advanced heart care recognized by national certifications.
