Bucks County Montessori CS recently issued the following announcement.

Dear BCMCS Community,

July’s etymology is quite distinctive from other months, in that it is the first month to have been renamed in honor of an historic figure. When the famous Roman General, Julius Caesar, died, Quintilis [the original fifth month of the calendar year] was renamed ‘July’ in honor of his birth month. This ‘renaming’ monthly etymology theme fits quite well for us too, as we are set to go through our very own ‘class’ and ‘assignment’ name changes for the upcoming 2021-22 school year.

An obvious ‘class’ name change will be in the Lower Elementary [LE] with Ms. Curcuru’ room, as it will convert from LE4 to LE1 due to Mrs. Grant’s departure. Because of our lower overall LE population, and projected move for all students to be ‘In Person’ this upcoming school year, we will go back to three (3) LE settings. With all other changes considered, we have decided to best position filling members into both the LE and UE open settings, with the resulting teacher changes/additions, as well as class name changes, to consist of:

·       Mr. Michael Gibson [PA State Certified] remaining with Ms. Curcuru in their now labeled LE1 setting.

·       Ms. Casey Brenner [Out of State Certified/Montessori Credentialed in Primary] teaming up with Mrs. Carpenter in the LE2 setting.

·       Mrs. Jessica Meister [formally Mrs. Titlow and former BCMCS Lead Teacher, both PA Certified and Upper Elementary Montessori Credentialed] to Co-Lead with Mrs. Hirst in UE3.

·       Mrs. Kathy Heitmann to join Ms. Ramus in UE4 during the uninterrupted morning work cycles.

·       Mrs. Manis to be the lone teacher in the undersized UE1 setting.

We recognize that these changes may cause certain angst for both students and parents alike, as changes at school are always difficult. In this year’s case, do recognize that these changes were unavoidable due to staff departures. Our mission, and subsequent HR decisions, will try to best adhere to consistency, all the while meeting what fits best for our combined Montessori ideals.

Be sure to check our website, later this month, as we will post updates in preparation for the upcoming 2021-22 school year … class rosters are set to be revealed sometime mid to late July. Take care, continue to enjoy your summers, and until next month…           ~ Mr. Long
