Today, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick addressed concerns about unexplained drone activity in the Philadelphia region and New Jersey. He emphasized the need for federal action to address these issues.
"The growing reports of unexplained drone activity in the Philadelphia region and our neighboring state of New Jersey demand immediate and decisive federal action," said Fitzpatrick. As Chairman of the National Intelligence Enterprise Subcommittee on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, he is prioritizing this matter with urgency.
Fitzpatrick is working with federal law enforcement agencies and has requested a classified briefing to gain a comprehensive understanding of these incidents. "This is not a time for complacency—it is a time for action and accountability," he stated.
While initial briefings suggest no immediate threat to public safety, Fitzpatrick acknowledged the concerns of his constituents and others affected. He urged federal agencies to increase resources for investigating this issue and called for transparency through a public briefing. "Transparency is not optional—it is a necessity," he said.
He encouraged those who observe unidentified drone activity or have related information to report it to the FBI by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI or submitting details online at tips.fbi.gov.
