U.S. Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) said rising housing costs in Pennsylvania are caused, in part, by illegal aliens “competing against Americans buying homes.”
"When you let in 25M people, many of whom are bringing fentanyl into this country, and they are competing against Americans buying homes, that is why we have skyrocketing housing costs,” Vance said at a Sept. 28 rally in Newtown. “So here is our message to Kamala Harris and the 25M illegal aliens that she has parked in the United States: In 6 months, pack your bags because you're going home."
“At the end of 2023, home prices were up 5.6% annually, rising at an annual rate of 6.4% in February and hitting an all-time high early this year. Home prices grew in 97 of the top 100 markets, and the Northeast and Midwest saw the greatest growth,” reported the Pennsylvania Realtors Association.
“Existing homes for sale remain in short supply,” the report said. “Just 1.1 million homes were available for purchase in March 2024, down from 1.7 million in March 2019, according to the National Association of Realtors®."
At the same time, there have been 2,756,646 illegal alien encounters in the U.S. during Fiscal Year 2024, according to U.S. Customers and Border Patrol (CBP).
The CBP reported that there have been a total of 10,680,891 illegal alien enforcement encounters since Fiscal Year 2021, the period when President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office.
These numbers do not include illegal aliens who “got away” or came across the border illegally without the knowledge of CBP. It also does not include illegal aliens already in the U.S.
