Senator Frank Farry and Representative Kathleen “K.C.” Tomlinson have announced a significant financial boost for Bensalem Township School District. The district has received a $1,833,360 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) Stronger Connections Grant (SCG).
The SCG aims to support school districts in creating safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments in both elementary and secondary schools. "This grant is a great victory for Bensalem students," stated Tomlinson. She emphasized that the funds will be directed towards ensuring student safety on school grounds, contributing to a safer and more conducive learning environment. She expressed gratitude towards Senator Farry and the leadership of Bensalem Township School District for their collaboration in securing this funding.
Farry shared his satisfaction with the announcement: "I’m pleased to announce Bensalem School District has been awarded a nearly $2 million grant through the Building Stronger Communities Act." He highlighted that this investment would enhance educational opportunities and infrastructure, providing students with essential tools for success. Farry noted that this grant underscores their commitment to delivering quality education and strengthening communities.
The allocated funds will enable Bensalem Township School District to implement a district-wide Student Success Initiative aimed at improving the success and well-being of both students and staff.
