Senator Frank Farry has announced his committee assignments for the upcoming 2025-26 legislative session. Farry will chair the newly established Institutional Sustainability and Innovation Committee, created by President Pro Tempore Kim Ward. This marks the first new committee formation in decades.
The Institutional Sustainability and Innovation Committee is tasked with advancing legislation related to the sustainability of institutional facilities across Pennsylvania. It will also evaluate innovative technologies that could support these institutions' sustainability efforts, focusing on sectors such as healthcare, aging, biotechnology, and life sciences.
"I am eager to work alongside my colleagues on this new committee focusing on fostering innovation and ensuring the sustainability of our public institutions," stated Farry.
Additionally, Farry will serve as vice chair of the Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee. This committee is responsible for safeguarding public health and safety through oversight of consumer affairs legislation, regulated utility services, and professional licensing boards in Pennsylvania. It also supervises various state boards and commissions to maintain professional conduct standards.
