Langhorne, PA – Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) announced today the securing of a $2.9 million Community Project Funding (CPF) grant for United Way of Bucks County. This funding was introduced by Fitzpatrick into the FY2024 Consolidated Appropriations Act as part of the Community Project Funding program, which allows Members of Congress to direct federal funds towards projects within their districts that address significant community needs.

Through the Community Project Funding Request process for the 118th Congress, included in the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, Fitzpatrick successfully secured over $27.5 million for 14 community projects benefiting First District constituents. In previous years, he secured more than $19 million for 13 projects in FY23 and over $6.6 million for 10 projects in FY22.

United Way of Bucks County will use this funding for their Healthy Eating and Living Partnership (HELP) Center. To meet growing community needs, UWBC is expanding its facilities with a new site on Bristol Emilie Road in Levittown. The HELP Center provides essentials like cleaning supplies, personal hygiene items, and home goods free of charge through a dignified personal shopping experience.

"One of my top priorities in Congress is working to bring back vital federal resources and funding that benefits our PA-1 community, which is why I am proud to have secured $2.9 million for United Way of Bucks County," said Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1). "This investment transcends funding; it is the foundation for lasting change and a profound commitment to improving and enhancing the well-being of Bucks County residents."

"We are incredibly grateful for Congressman Fitzpatrick’s help and support," said Marissa Christie, United Way of Bucks County President & CEO. "Since opening in 2020, the HELP Center has provided over $8 million worth of brand-new essential items, serving more than 25,000 residents. The expansion is a transformative investment in Bucks County’s future."

United Way of Bucks County has been committed since 1952 to creating pathways to quality education, financial stability, and good health for individuals and families in the community. By expanding access to education, combating hunger, stabilizing families, and growing their HELP Center to meet urgent needs and fill critical gaps, UWBC stands as a beacon of hope and support for Bucks County.
