This weekend, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) received the 2024 John F. Kennedy Memorial Medal from the National Chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) at their 102nd National AOH-LAOH Convention in Washington, DC.
The AOH John F. Kennedy Memorial Medal is the highest honor awarded by the Ancient Order of Hibernians. It recognizes individuals who are “outstanding in his or her field of endeavor” and have made significant contributions to the Irish-American community and broader causes of peace and unity. Past recipients include Nobel Peace Prize Laureate John Hume, His Eminence John Cardinal O’Connor, and Major General Patrick Henry Brady.
“I am deeply humbled to receive the John F. Kennedy Memorial Medal Award—a profound honor bestowed upon not only me but the entire Fitzpatrick family. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Ancient Order of Hibernians for this extraordinary recognition and the values it embodies,” said Congressman Fitzpatrick.
“We were proud to celebrate our Hibernian brother, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, and present him with the prestigious AOH John F. Kennedy Medal at the 102nd Biennial AOH-LAOH Convention,” said AOH National President Sean Pender.
“Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick is a leader who recognizes the role Irish Americans play in our country," said Bucks County AOH President Bill Lacey.
“It is such a great honor to have Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick as one of our members receive the John F. Kennedy Memorial medal,” added Jeff Sproehnle, President of AOH Michael Dougherty Division 1 (Bristol, PA).
“Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick has an incredible interest in and knowledge of critically important issues affecting Ireland,” stated Ken Moran, President of AOH Division 5 (Levittown, PA).
In Congress, Fitzpatrick holds several key leadership roles including Chairman of the Subcommittee on National Intelligence on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, member of both the House Ways & Means Committee and NATO Parliamentary Assembly. He also Co-Chairs multiple caucuses including Problem Solvers Caucus and Congressional Ukraine Caucus among others.
Since entering Congress, he has been a leading advocate for Irish issues championing numerous initiatives focused on Irish legacy justice.
