Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) and Congresswoman Norma J. Torres (CA-35) have reintroduced a bipartisan resolution to designate August 6, 2024, as National Night Out. This event has been instrumental in building strong partnerships with first responders and fostering unity within neighborhoods for nearly four decades.

National Night Out aims to enhance the relationship between law enforcement and residents by bringing communities together. With participation from over 38 million neighbors in more than 16,000 communities nationwide, it underscores the power of collective action and community spirit.

"Here in Bucks and Montgomery counties, like many communities nationwide, we recognize the vital importance of fostering healthy relationships with the hero first responders who serve and protect us,” said Congressman Fitzpatrick. “In PA-1, we are fortunate to have some of the finest men and women in Blue, who dedicate their life to safeguarding our residents while working to further strengthen community-police partnerships through events like National Night Out. I am proud to join Congresswoman Torres to recognize the incredible efforts of the PA-1 law enforcement departments and agencies, and all across the nation, who are taking an active role in making our communities a safer, stronger, and more connected place.”

“Members of our local law enforcement serve and protect us every single day and they deserve recognition for the sacrifices they make to keep our families and communities safe! As a former 9-1-1 dispatcher for over 17 and a half years and the mother of a current police officer, I understand the importance of building trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the communities they protect,” said Congresswoman Norma Torres. “This event is not just a celebration of those who serve but a crucial opportunity to nurture and strengthen the trust and community connections between law enforcement and the public. I look forward to celebrating another fun-filled National Night Out and encourage families, business leaders, and community advocates alike to join in promoting public safety this August 6th.”
