Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 1st district since 2017, recently shared several updates on Twitter regarding events and issues of public interest.
On June 20, 2025, Fitzpatrick reported a shooting incident at the Oxford Valley Mall. He stated that “The shooting that took place earlier this evening at the Oxford Valley Mall was a targeted incident. The victim is currently receiving care at the hospital, and the suspect—who fled the scene—is still at large.” According to his post, the mall has been secured and closed to the public following the event.
In another post later that day, Fitzpatrick highlighted community service within his district. He mentioned that “Each week, we share stories from across our district of individuals who go above and beyond in service to others—who lead not for recognition but out of a deep and abiding commitment to their community.” He commended an individual whose actions exemplify such dedication.
Fitzpatrick also addressed concerns over potential changes to mental health support services through a third tweet on June 20. He expressed concern about reports suggesting that crucial services might be eliminated: “Nearly 1.3 million young people in crisis have found support through the ‘Press 3’ option on the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Reports that this service could be eliminated are deeply alarming—and I’m taking action.” He mentioned reaching out to Secretary Kennedy regarding these developments.
Born in Philadelphia in 1973, Brian Fitzpatrick now resides in Levittown. His educational background includes a BS from La Salle University and a JD from Pennsylvania State University, Carlisle.
