Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, a U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 1st district since 2017, shared insights from his recent engagements and reflections on significant historical events through a series of tweets.
On June 18, 2025, Fitzpatrick visited Fostering Hope in Newtown, an organization dedicated to supporting children and families in foster care. He expressed admiration for the volunteer-led group by stating “It was great to visit Fostering Hope in Newtown today—an inspiring, volunteer-led organization making a real difference for children and families in foster care across our community.” He highlighted their efforts in providing essentials like clean clothes to children entering care.
Later that day, Fitzpatrick emphasized his collaboration with PA Humanities by meeting with key figures such as Executive Director Laurie Zierer. He tweeted about this partnership saying “I’ve been a proud partner to @PAHumanities because I believe in what they stand for: strengthening our community through history, culture, education, and civic engagement.”
On June 19, 2025, Fitzpatrick reflected on the historical significance of Juneteenth. He noted the arrival of Union troops in Galveston, Texas 160 years ago as a pivotal moment in ending slavery. In his tweet he mentioned “In 2021, I was proud to help establish Juneteenth as a federal holiday—honoring this historic moment and the enduring fight for justice.”
Brian Fitzpatrick has been serving Pennsylvania’s 1st District since replacing Mike Fitzpatrick in 2017. Born in Philadelphia and residing in Levittown at age 49, he holds degrees from La Salle University and Pennsylvania State University.
