Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, who represents Pennsylvania’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to discuss congressional accountability, highlight local constituents, and address immigration policy.
On March 27, 2026, Fitzpatrick emphasized the responsibility of lawmakers to their constituents rather than to federal authorities. He stated: “Our job is not to answer to Washington. Our job is to answer to the people who sent us here. Every member of the House represents roughly 800,000 people back home, and they are our bosses. What I am hearing in Pennsylvania is the same thing @RepTomSuozzi is hearing in New York:”.
Later that day, Fitzpatrick acknowledged a community member for exemplary service. He wrote on March 27: “Each week, we celebrate people from across our district who rise above the ordinary and inspire us through their actions, their character, and the way they give of themselves to others. This week, there is no one more fitting to recognize with that honor than Bryan Rosica.”
Addressing legislative action on immigration enforcement on March 28, Fitzpatrick commented on ongoing debates in Washington: “Washington has spent weeks debating immigration enforcement without putting forward a single bill that fully funds DHS and delivers real ICE reform. That’s a problem. Rep. Tom Suozzi and I changed that. Our bipartisan bill fully funds DHS and puts in place reforms that hold ICE”.
Fitzpatrick has served as representative for Pennsylvania’s 1st District since 2017 after succeeding Mike Fitzpatrick.[1] Born in Philadelphia in 1973 and currently residing in Levittown,[2] he graduated from La Salle University with a BS degree before earning his JD from Pennsylvania State University.[3]
