Policy committee addresses Pennsylvania’s child care crisis with upcoming hearing

House Republican Policy Committee Vice Chairman Kristin Marcell, along with Representatives Shelby Labs and Joe Hogan, will host a hearing titled “Child Care Challenges and Solutions.” The event aims to address issues related to modernizing regulations and staff eligibility requirements for child care businesses. The goal is to support the growth of these businesses while ensuring working parents have access to reliable and affordable child care.

The hearing will feature several testifiers, including Aaron Riggleman from the PA Chamber of Business and Industry, Marissa Christie of United Way Bucks, Tami Unger from River Crossing YMCA, Bernadette Rodrigo of Children’s Village, and Tiffany Martin from Teddy Bear College.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 29 at 11 a.m. It will take place at Upper Bucks Technical School in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. For those unable to attend in person, the hearing will be available via livestream on policycommittee.com.
