Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 1st district since 2017, recently shared significant updates through his social media platform. Fitzpatrick has been active in highlighting both international and local events that resonate with his constituents.
On May 12, 2025, Rep. Fitzpatrick announced the release of Edan Alexander, a 21-year-old New Jersey native who had been held captive by Hamas for over a year and a half. In his tweet, he stated: “After 550 unthinkable days in captivity, 21-year-old New Jersey native Edan Alexander is finally coming home after being taken hostage by Hamas on October 7, 2023.” He also noted that Alexander’s mother described the news as “the greatest gift imaginable” upon learning of her son’s release on Mother’s Day.
Later that day, another post from Fitzpatrick included only a link to an external site or resource: “https://t.co/QAB7zjZ2lR”.
In addition to international affairs, Rep. Fitzpatrick engaged with local community activities. On May 12, he reflected on participating in the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive organized by local letter carriers in Morrisville. His tweet expressed appreciation for their efforts: “It was wonderful to join our incredible local letter carriers this Saturday in Morrisville for their annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive—collecting and sorting thousands of donations for food pantries across our community.”
Brian Fitzpatrick continues to serve as an influential figure within Pennsylvania’s political landscape. Born in Philadelphia in 1973 and currently residing in Levittown, he holds degrees from La Salle University and Pennsylvania State University.
