Several fire and EMS companies serving Pennsylvania’s 18th District will receive grants from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the Office of the State Fire Commissioner, according to an announcement made by Rep. Kathleen “K.C.” Tomlinson (R-Bucks).
The grants are intended to support a range of projects, including facility upgrades, equipment purchases, training for staff, and debt relief. Tomlinson stated, “I’m proud to congratulate our dedicated fire and EMS companies across the 18th District on receiving these critical grants. From Bensalem to Hulmeville, these funds will go directly toward facility upgrades, equipment purchases, training and debt relief. These investments provide our first responders with the support they deserve to continue to keep our communities safe.”
The recipients and their respective grant amounts are as follows:
– Bensalem Fire Rescue: $14,075
– Bensalem Rescue Squad Inc.: $15,000
– Cornwells Fire Company No. 1: $16,136
– Newport Fire Company No. 1: $16,136
– Nottingham Fire Company: $16,136
– Trevose Fire Company: $16,136
– William Penn Fire Company: $16,136
To qualify for funding from the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC), companies must apply and meet specific requirements. Each eligible company is required to file a grant agreement with OSFC before receiving funds.
Eligible projects for these grants include building or renovating facilities used by fire or EMS services; buying or repairing necessary equipment; providing training opportunities for current or new personnel; and reducing outstanding debts.
