Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick announced the allocation of more than $27.5 million in federal funding for 11 projects across Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District. The funds are part of the Community Project Funding process included in the House-passed Fiscal Year 2026 bipartisan spending package.

The initiatives were identified through collaboration with local governments, first responders, nonprofit organizations, and other community stakeholders. They aim to address issues such as public safety, emergency response, infrastructure upgrades, housing stability, and environmental protection.

Since Fiscal Year 2022, Congressman Fitzpatrick has secured over $80 million in federal funding for similar community projects in his district.

“Every project included here began with a conversation in the community,” said Fitzpatrick. “Over the past year, I’ve sat down with local leaders, first responders, advocates, and service organizations to understand where the needs are greatest and where federal investment can make the strongest difference. Working alongside those partners, I fought to ensure these priorities were reflected in the House-passed bipartisan spending package. From public safety and emergency response, to flood protection, housing stability, and modern infrastructure, these investments address real needs and will have lasting impact. As this funding moves forward, I look forward to continuing to work alongside our local partners to bring these projects to life and ensure they deliver meaningful, positive results for the people who depend on them.”

Among the funded projects is a new fire station for Bensalem Township intended to consolidate outdated facilities into one modern center serving both volunteer and career firefighters. Bristol Township will see an expanded homeless shelter as well as a new bridge connecting Haines Road across a railway corridor—an effort prompted by previous disruptions caused by bridge closures.

Other investments include support for United Way of Bucks County’s HELP Center in Levittown; restoration of Boone Farm as an African American Community Center; improvements for public safety operations throughout Bucks County; enhanced parking at Doylestown Township’s Community Recreation Center; stormwater management upgrades in Lower Makefield Township following severe flooding incidents; replacement of Middletown Township’s Public Works Complex; and modernization of aging sewer infrastructure in Hatfield Borough.

Fitzpatrick has represented Pennsylvania’s 1st District since 2017 after succeeding Mike Fitzpatrick that year (https://fitzpatrick.house.gov/about). He was born in Philadelphia in 1973 and currently resides in Levittown (https://www.inquirer.com/politics/election/brian-fitzpatrick-bucks-county-republican-moderate-election-20221020.html). He holds degrees from La Salle University (BS) and Pennsylvania State University (JD) (https://fitzpatrick.house.gov/about).
