Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 1st district since 2017, recently shared his thoughts on air travel safety and the importance of respectful discourse in democracy through a series of tweets.
On June 16, 2025, Fitzpatrick addressed concerns about air travel safety. He stated that with public confidence in air travel shaken, there is a responsibility to act rather than delay. He mentioned sending a letter to Secretary Duffy urging the FAA to enforce the Saracini Aviation Safety Act—a bipartisan law he authored that requires secondary cockpit barriers on all newly manufactured aircraft. The tweet can be accessed here.
In another post made later that day, Fitzpatrick commended Pennsylvania State Representative Kristin Marcell for her statement on disagreement and democracy. He expressed that “disagreement isn’t a weakness—it’s part of what makes our democracy strong.” As Co-Chair of the Problem Solvers Caucus, he emphasized working towards fostering this mindset within Congress. The tweet is available here.
