Reps. Joe Hogan, Shelby Labs, Kristin Marcell, Craig Staats, and Kathleen “K.C.” Tomlinson from Bucks County have issued a statement condemning the recent violence against Minnesota lawmakers. This follows the fatal shooting of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband in their home. State Senator John Hoffman and his wife were also injured in the attack and are currently fighting for their lives.

Craig Staats described the incident as “a cowardly and unacceptable act of violence against public servants and their families,” emphasizing that “no one should ever fear for their life because they chose to serve their community.”

Shelby Labs expressed her disbelief by stating, “There are no words for something this horrific,” while extending her thoughts to the victims and those affected.

Kristin Marcell called the event “a terrible tragedy that should have never happened” and offered her deepest condolences to the families involved.

Joe Hogan remarked on how such tragedies affect everyone, noting, “We may come from different states and parties, but there’s a shared understanding that public service should never come with this kind of danger.”

Kathleen “K.C.” Tomlinson highlighted the targeted nature of the attack, asserting that “there is absolutely no place for this in a free society.” She extended her sympathy to those impacted and expressed hope for justice.

The investigation into these incidents is ongoing according to law enforcement reports.
