U.S. Representative Brian Fitzpatrick, who represents Pennsylvania’s 1st district in Congress, provided updates on social media regarding law enforcement activity connected to an incident near the New York City Mayor’s official residence.
On March 9, 2026, Fitzpatrick wrote, “Earlier this evening, federal and local law enforcement conducted investigative activity in Middletown Township and Newtown related to an incident that occurred yesterday near the New York City Mayor’s official residence. Authorities have indicated that there is no known threat https://t.co/smatMDtU22”.
Later that night, he posted another update: “Federal authorities have informed my office that two individuals were arrested at the scene following yesterday’s incident near the New York City Mayor’s official residence and remain in custody. The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) is leading the investigation in”.
The following morning, Fitzpatrick shared details about coordination with local education officials: “This morning, I spoke with Neshaminy School District Superintendent Jason Bowman to offer our full support and to ensure close coordination as federal authorities continue their investigation into the New York City incident involving two individuals connected to our community.”
Fitzpatrick has represented Pennsylvania’s 1st district since 2017 after succeeding Mike Fitzpatrick. He was born in Philadelphia in 1973 and currently resides in Levittown. Fitzpatrick holds a BS from La Salle University and a JD from Pennsylvania State University.
