Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, who represents Pennsylvania’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, addressed issues ranging from stalking prevention to veterans’ health and challenges faced by military families in a series of recent social media posts.

On February 2, 2026, Fitzpatrick highlighted concerns about stalking and its role as an early warning sign of potential danger. He stated, “Stalking is rarely an isolated act—it is often the first unmistakable signal that someone is in danger. As a former law enforcement officer, and through years of work alongside victim advocates and law enforcement here in our community, I’ve seen how early, coordinated”.

Addressing veterans’ health on February 3, 2026, Fitzpatrick wrote about the higher risk of ALS among veterans and the impact of current compensation requirements for survivors. He posted, “Veterans are twice as likely to be diagnosed with ALS—a fast-moving, fatal disease with a life expectancy of just two to five years. Yet under the current eight-year Dependency and Indemnity Compensation requirement for military survivors, families can lose earned benefits simply”.

Later that day, Fitzpatrick shared a personal story from his district involving Joe Fiandra, a veteran who struggled with amyloidosis and encountered difficulties within the healthcare system during his final illness. In his post dated February 3, 2026, he wrote: “PA-1’s own Joe Fiandra wore our nation’s uniform with honor. He fought amyloidosis with courage. And in his final battle, he encountered a health care system that put barriers where compassion should have been. When I sat down with his wife, Helen, in Warrington, she and her”.

Fitzpatrick has served Pennsylvania’s 1st District since 2017 after succeeding Mike Fitzpatrick. Born in Philadelphia in 1973 and residing in Levittown, he holds degrees from La Salle University and Pennsylvania State University’s Carlisle campus. His background includes experience as a law enforcement officer before entering Congress.
