Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 1st district since 2017, recently used his social media platform to highlight local celebrations and community achievements.
On October 18, 2025, Fitzpatrick posted about the significance of Diwali while attending an event in Levittown. He wrote, “Sanghe shaktihi—strength in unity. Diwali is a celebration of light, but at its core, it’s a celebration of us: of all we can achieve and overcome when we stand together. Tonight, standing alongside my friends at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Levittown, that truth was felt”.
The following day, October 19, Fitzpatrick congratulated a local scout on achieving Eagle Scout rank. In his words: “Join me in congratulating Robert Joseph “RJ” Spruhde of Troop 133, from Southampton, on earning the rank of Eagle Scout—an outstanding achievement that reflects his leadership, initiative, and commitment to serving our community. For his project, RJ led the installation of”.
Continuing the theme of community unity during the Diwali season on October 20, Fitzpatrick shared another message: “There is no force more powerful than a community united. That truth was felt throughout this Diwali season, and again today at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandirs in Warrington and Lansdale. These celebrations are a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from standing”.
Fitzpatrick has represented Pennsylvania’s 1st District since replacing Mike Fitzpatrick in Congress in 2017 and resides in Levittown. Born in Philadelphia in 1973 and currently aged 49, he graduated from La Salle University with a BS degree before earning a JD from Pennsylvania State University’s Carlisle campus.
