Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, who represents Pennsylvania’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on January 8, 2026, highlighting local biomedical achievements, reflecting on public service, and discussing bipartisan health care efforts.
In his first post at 14:14 UTC, Fitzpatrick praised local organizations for their contributions to biomedical progress: “For decades, my friends and longtime partners at the @HepBFoundation, @BlumbergInstit1, and @BiotechnologyPa have led the way in advancing cures, treatments, and public health, driving biomedical progress on a global scale from right here in our community—which is exactly why I”.
Later that day at 17:11 UTC, he commented on the legacy of fellow lawmaker Steny Hoyer: “Some public servants pass through history; others help preserve what matters. Steny Hoyer belongs firmly in the latter.
To work alongside him was to witness a true statesman at work—serious about the institution, fair with those who agreed and disagreed alike, and guided by”.
At 19:22 UTC on January 8th, Fitzpatrick discussed bipartisan cooperation regarding health care legislation: “I joined NPR with my @ProbSolveCaucus Co-Chair @RepTomSuozzi to discuss today’s vote and the bipartisan path forward on health care.
For months, we worked across the aisle and with both chambers to build a responsible two-party framework to extend ACA subsidies—targeted relief”.
Fitzpatrick has served as Pennsylvania’s 1st District representative since 2017 after succeeding Mike Fitzpatrick. He was born in Philadelphia in 1973 and currently resides in Levittown. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science from La Salle University (1996) and a Juris Doctor from Pennsylvania State University (2001).
