Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, U.S. Congressman representing Pennsylvania’s 1st district since 2017, posted a series of messages on September 3, 2025, highlighting both community events and legislative initiatives.

In his first post of the day, Fitzpatrick reflected on the start of the school year: “The first day of school is one of those moments that brings our whole community together—buses rolling out, crossing guards on post, doors opening, and an incredible team making it all possible. Over the years, working closely with schools across our district, I’ve seen the” (September 3, 2025).

Later that afternoon, Fitzpatrick addressed public trust in government by announcing new legislation: “Trust in Congress has been broken—and we just took a major step toward fixing it. Today, I stood with one of the most wide-ranging bipartisan coalitions Congress has seen in years to introduce the Restore Trust in Congress Act—a bill that would ban Members of Congress, their” (September 3, 2025).

He followed up with another message expressing appreciation for Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s support: “Grateful to my friend @RepAOC for her continued partnership on this critical issue that she and I have long championed. Together, in a bipartisan manner, we will ban stock trading for all Members of Congress, once and for all. #PatrioticCommonSense” (September 3, 2025).

Fitzpatrick’s career includes succeeding Mike Fitzpatrick as representative for Pennsylvania’s 1st district in 2017. Born in Philadelphia in 1973 and currently residing in Levittown at age 49, he holds degrees from La Salle University and Pennsylvania State University.

The Restore Trust in Congress Act comes amid ongoing debates over ethical standards for lawmakers regarding financial activities while serving. Fitzpatrick’s collaboration with Rep. Ocasio-Cortez highlights bipartisan efforts to address these concerns.
