U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, who represents Pennsylvania’s 1st district, addressed several recent events and issues in a series of posts on his social media account.

On August 27, 2025, Fitzpatrick expressed his reaction to a violent incident in Minnesota: “I am devastated and outraged by the tragic and heartbreaking shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis during Mass this morning—an act of deliberate, senseless evil that has stolen the lives of two innocent children and left 17 others injured. Please join me in”.

The following day, August 28, he commented on the importance of education and teacher support: “The future of our nation begins in the classroom—and it depends on the teachers who lead it. I’ve sat with educators across our district, and they’ve all voiced a common truth: while we invest heavily in preparing new teachers, we don’t do enough to support the growth of those”.

Later that same day, Fitzpatrick paid tribute to a fallen service member: “Our nation lost a hero this week. Sgt. Michael Verardo’s life was the story of service, sacrifice, and love of country. At just 40 years old, he was taken from us by the wounds he sustained in Afghanistan while serving with the 82nd Airborne. Gravely injured by an IED in 2010,”.

Fitzpatrick has served as U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania’s 1st District since replacing Mike Fitzpatrick in 2017. He was born in Philadelphia in 1973 and currently resides in Levittown. His educational background includes degrees from La Salle University (BS) and Pennsylvania State University (JD).
