U.S. Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, who represents Pennsylvania’s 1st district, addressed several issues of public concern in a series of posts on his social media account this week.

On August 11, Fitzpatrick commented on the recent industrial accident at a local facility: “The explosion at the U.S. Steel Clairton Coke Works plant is a tragedy felt across our Commonwealth. Please join me in praying for the victims, their families, the workers, and the entire Clairton community. In moments like this, Pennsylvania stands as one—united in compassion,” he wrote.

Later that same day, Fitzpatrick spoke about threats faced by law enforcement officers: “When those sworn to protect our communities are under attack, every American is less safe. On August 13, he addressed religious intolerance following an incident involving a Hindu temple: “The desecration of yet another BAPS Mandir is a despicable assault on the sacred right of every person to worship freely. Fitzpatrick has served in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Mike Fitzpatrick and currently resides in Levittown. He was born in Philadelphia in 1973 and holds degrees from La Salle University and Pennsylvania State University.
